Round 4 wrap up & Jimmy Cog's 200th

Peninsula continued their unbeaten run on Saturday defeating Melbourne High School by 78 points away in perfect footy conditions.

The Pirates jumped the Unicorns in the first quarter piling on 7 goals to 1 and never looked back.

The second and third quarters saw the intensity of Melbourne High lift up a notch, however they were unable to convert a goal thanks to rock solid defence from the POB back six.

Gary Carr was a stand-out again playing across half back, whilst young Rob 'Pebbles' Bamberry continues to impress as a running backline/midfielder with excellent poise and toe.

The Pirate Reserves worked hard in veteran and Ressies Coach, Adam 'Dogga' Crean’s 300th match for the blue and tan, but unfortunately were unable to come away with the 4 points.

The Unders notched up their 2nd win in a row (vs St Marys / Salesian) Under Coach Theo Messinis as their hard work is starting to pay off.

This week, bustling full forward and sharp shooter James ‘any angle’ Coghlan will run out in the blue and tan for his 200th match – best of luck Jimmy!

Dogga's 300th

In what looms to be one of the biggest matches of the year our current Reserves playing Coach Adam Dogga "Micky" Crean plays this 300th this Saturday at Melb High School Old Boys (MHS Oval, Yarra St, Sth Yarra 2L J3).

Get there at 11:30am to see our champion player and now supercoach run out, leading the Reserves in a crucial match against Melb High.

Adam Crean is the heart and soul of the POBFC and after dominating at the senior level for many years has picked up coaching the Reserves in 2011 as a natural leader.

Congratulations Dogga as you join the elite 300th club!

Our congratulations also to the Under 19s for their first win for the year last week as they improve each week.
