2014 Cutlass Club Lunch with Manu Superchef Manu Fiedel will be the special guest at the upcoming Cutlass Club lunch on Friday 18 July. Before becoming a culinary crusader, the star of shows like Masterchef and more recently My Kitchen Rules actually joined a circus school – so he should be well equipped to handle a room full of excited Pirates. Manu, in partnership with previous Cutlass Club guest George Calombaris, opened a new restaurant Le Grand Cirque in Melbourne in March this year. What he knows about amateur football is anyone’s guess, but he knows food and how to handle a pack of […]
Peninsula: 12.19.91 Oakleigh: 5.12.42 It couldn’t have been a more perfect stage for two old foes on a blustery Saturday afternoon. The Pirates, fresh off a big home game win to start the season and Oakleigh, pumped up after a late loss to PEGS, we were set for a classic bout. In Rob Stainforth’s 200th game for the Pirates, they set the tone early dominating the centre clearances and rushing forward with confidence at every opportunity. After controlling the game for most of the quarter, the Chargers struck back late when the Pirates were caught napping on the wing several times. It was only a […]
Peninsula: 16.17-113 Banyule: 11.10-76 It was the start for Peninsula new Coach, Nick Claringbold and new Pirate Skipper Stu Grigg had been dreaming of all summer. In perfect conditions on the Harry Mac oval, the Pirates notched their first win for 2014. From the first bounce the intensity was fierce from Peninsula. Kicking into the wind, they put four unanswered goals by freeing up players from stoppages and bullet passes to their tall forward line. Shaun Payze had two before the first break and the Pirates looked on. The second unfolded in a similar fashion, but the Pirates wasted opportunities as they […]

All welcome to the Pirates Theme Night Party at Kirks in Mornington this Saturday night. It should be a boot scootin’ time!
Aargh. It was with heavy hearts that the Pirates sailed home from their treks to Mazenod and Monash respectively. In what was a disappointing weekend for all members of the Pirate crew, the Seniors and Reserves both lost to Mazenod in disappointing fashion, and the Unders were sunk by a measly point! In a mixed result, the Thirds, fresh from their first ever triumph, came away with the points but …didn’t even get to play due to the other team hoisting the white flag up. You can only play what is put in front of you though so the scallywags from the Thirds truly spanked […]
Aargh! What a fantastic weekend of pirating that was! Started off with some incredible efforts by the Pirates on the battlefield and finished with the induction of our newest brethren into this mighty club in front of the pirate gods. The celebrations ran deep into the night, with much bonding occurring between old Pirate and new. On the football side of things, the U/19s put up a valiant showing…, severely undermanned they kept fighting until the end in true Pirates style, and were just edged out of what would’ve been a mighty victory. The 3rds made history and had their first ever win! This is […]
