Woody's Wagon Round 9
After a pretty disappointing weekend on the Pirate field, it was impressive that we still had about 30 – 35 Pirates turn up to the first annual PCG event in the city on Saturday night. For those of you who couldn’t be there, here’s how the night unfolded…
7:00PM – Pirate boys arrive on mass in a sea of Jay-Jay’s inspired outfits and decorative silver-wear in overly pieced ears (RJ!)
7:30PM – Harry Whitty decides that the Juke Box would be better entertainment than the live coverage of footy in the bar and requests his fav Spice Girls track to inspire the first few bevs (weird)
8:00PM – Cade rocked up with a male partner thinking this was a different kind of ‘boys night out’… Cade’s World, Cade’s World, party time, excellent!
8:15PM – Cottees rocks up in dress shoes, neatly ironed jeans and snappy new shirt from Men’s Suit Warehouse. Not sure if he got a text from Cade?
8:30PM – Payzey retells the interesting story of his 187m kick to win the game ‘in parso’s honour’ against Bullen. We get it mate, you’re awesome.
10:00PM – Old Pirate ‘Nelly’ behind the bar at the Duck puts down the quickest skull in Pirate history – literally blink and you missed it!
10:10PM – Pirates depart the Flying Duck and head across to Hoo Haa with the knowledge that two female 21sts are in full swing. Garthy seems redundantly optimistic.
10:15PM – Astonishingly, all Pirates make it into the venue without question and head into the cover of pub darkness.
11:45PM – Garthy was strangely absent for about two hours before De-Flange reported back to the crew that Garthy had found some women! Obviously we didn’t believe it and it turned out that Garth had pre-arranged for his work colleagues to arrive ‘organically’ and chat to them during the night. Well played and well paid for Garthy…
12:00PM – Pirates divide with the younger chaps sneaking off to Eve and the older Pirates flocking to near by bars (and fish n chip shops!) to watch the Socceroos slump to a 1-1 draw.
All in all – a rip roaring night!
